Joomla 1.6 - Design and Development E-mail
08.01.2009. Joomla is very popular among many of our small business clients. The new version, Joomla 1.6, is already in Beta release and we have seen it in action. Here are some details.
  1. New Server Requirements: PHP 5.2+, MySQL 5.04+
  2. No more Legacy Mode.
  3. More control over groups and access levels. This is referred to as Access Control List (ACL).
  4. Default template layouts will change.
  5. URL's will change and this will have a great impact on Search Engine Optimizaton (SEO).
  6. Method of upgrade is still unknown.
  7. Administrator interface will change.
